Rachel Mador

Rachel Mador-House is an American Board Certified Genetic Counselor at Ironwood Cancer and Research Center. Rachel obtained her Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling from California State University in 2017 where she completed her Cancer Genetics training at the University of San Francisco Cancer Risk and Prevention Program. During her training, she was awarded a competitive Master’s Internship at Kaiser Permanente, where she worked as a Genetic Counseling Consultant.

Before her graduate work in California, Rachel completed a Master’s of Science Degree at the University of Toronto (Canada) where she performed genomic research related to human disease at the Hospital for Sick Children. Rachel obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Guelph (Canada) in 2009.

Rachel worked as a Genetics Consultant for Resources Global Professionals. In that role, she performed utilization analysis, policy development, and established guidelines related to genetic testing for multiple health organizations. She has also worked as the Genetic Counselor and Clinic Coordinator for the Maritime Newborn Screening Centre in Halifax, Canada. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys hiking with her dog, volunteering and kayaking.
